Gary W. Garcia
Gary W. García serves as Vice President of Philanthropic Partnerships at The Dallas Foundation, the first community foundation in Texas. In this role, he helps lead the Foundation’s development efforts by collaborating with family offices, professional advisors, prospective donors, and philanthropic partners to cultivate both planned and outright gifts.
Gary has a genuine passion for working with families. No matter where individuals are on their charitable journey, he is dedicated to helping them identify what they care about most and shape the impact they want to create—today, and for generations to come. With more than 25 years of experience at The Dallas Foundation, Gary has developed a particular strength in partnering with advisors and family-support teams to streamline complex giving, clarify philanthropic priorities, support next-generation engagement, and help families preserve the legacy they envision.
Gary earned his Chartered Advisor in Philanthropy (CAP) designation in 2011 from The American College, equipping him to integrate charitable giving into estate, business, and wealth-management strategies for both advisors and donors.
Before stepping into his current role, Gary served as Controller for The Dallas Foundation from 2001 to 2010. He holds an undergraduate degree in accounting and began his career with the State of Texas and PricewaterhouseCoopers before transitioning into the nonprofit sector.
