Growing up in Dallas, Texas Schlegel turned his Canadian roots and passion for sports into business by founding Schlegel Sports and Entertainment, where he owned the Texas Tornado, Iowa Stars, and Tacoma Rainiers. During his ownership he built and renovated three stadiums and collectively won four national championships. Since then, Schlegel has successfully sold his sports holdings and entered the investment world through Schlegel Capital, currently overseeing real estate developments and Bedrock Logistics Freight Company. As an SMU alumni, and MBA graduate of WLU, Kirby continues to serve on many charitable boards.
