Jaynie is an innovator and entrepreneur in both business and philanthropy. Her community service career began in 1988 when she joined the grants committee of the Texas Women’s Foundation. As President of the Schultz Family Foundation, she led the creation of many new programs such as the Schultz Fellows, LearningFest, the Center for Jewish Education and many others. Locally she helped create the CityLab High School Foundation and is currently building the International STEAM Academy Foundation. Nationally Jaynie serves the global community through the Advisory Council of We Repair, a global service organization and the American Jewish Joint Distribution Committee, the world’s largest Jewish service organization.

Jaynie and her husband, Ron Romaner, have four children, Ben, Dalya, Adina, and Micah, and serve as the American home family to Dejene, Semegnew, Mekonnen and Mesfin Hodes, sons of the CNN Hero nominee, Dr. Rick Hodes of Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.
